Who am I?

Well, before I answer that, here's an interesting thought:

"Are our lives really what others imagine?" - Loreena McKennitt

Intriguing concept wouldn't you say?

Very well then, seeing as you asked so nicely, here's a (really) short bio:

My name is Chris French, and I live in Perth, Western Australia, called by some: "The most remote Capital City of the Western world" (They always forget to add the word 'beautiful'). If you want to experience a little of Perth, try these links:
 Western Australia; Perth Western Australia; Western Australian Tourism Commission and Gateway to Perth.

I was born (a Gemini) in Totton, a suburb of Southampton, England. Here is a Southampton WebCam. The first few years of my life went by almost unnoticed by me (!) My Mother Vi (short for Violet) will say though, that I had a keen interest in trains and railways even in those early years!

In 1959, my family emigrated to the much sunnier Climate of Western Australia (mainly due to my health at the time).
Following the normal round of school years, I started my working life.

To date, I have had a variety of experiences in many diverse fields of work. (I guess that means I'm really quite 'adaptable'..!)

  I've worked as:

    »   An Apprentice Electrical Fitter with a Perth department store named Boans;
    »   A railway Signalman in and around Perth for the Western Australian Government Railways (W. A. G. R.);
    »   A horse-drawn vehicle builder / painter, in a family business (now closed) which I started with my Father Harry called
        The French Carriage Works - H. French & Sons;
    »   A security person - function room setting person - yardman, etc., at Pioneer Village (later named Pioneer World);
    »   Signalman (again) with our Government Railways, by then known as Westrail.

    Currently, I work as a computer Help Desk Officer in the Information Technology section of a State Government agency
    located in the tallest building in Perth.

Oh, by the way, you'll find a 'real' picture of me in the Music Room, and a couple in the Gallery. Cheers!
